STEPHANIE C. NNAMANI
Stephanie C. Nnamani is a self-taught photographer and art director from Enugu, Nigeria whose work is centred on narratives concerning presence, absence, and Otherness.
Nnamani's work has expanded into documentary and editorial photography--film and digital. Her curiosity stems from her childhood growing up in Nigeria before emigrating with her family to the UK, then to the States.
Nnamani is one of the recipients of the American Illustration, American Photography (AI-AP) 34 awards for her project, "The Black Victorian" which serves as a visual interrogation of absent narratives concerning Black women in the Victorian era. Later that year, she was commissioned by Getty Images to create "Coronation of The Kin" - a compelling visual narrative examining competing concepts of identity and togetherness within African cultures. She was recognised by Color of Change as one of the leading voices #tellingblackstories.
